Musician
Silver Godling

Silver Godling is the channel through which I release the majority of my music, pulling from my classical roots as well as exploring experimental music, chamber pop, dark pop, and electronic music, with a strong emphasis on the piano. Someone once asked me if my work as a piano technician has changed the way I hear music and sounds in general, particularly the piano, and I emphatically responded, “Yes!” Hence, my venturing into more and more experimentation with sounds as the years move along! I have released five full length albums and two EPs, which you can hear on Bandcamp or wherever you like to stream your music. Two albums released on vinyl are accompanied by photographic collaborations: the Ravel collaboration with Teddie Taylor, and the Witness, Unweave collaboration with Craig Mulcahy. I have a page dedicated to my release Jenni, a mostly piano album dedicated to my late sister. At some point in the near future, I will be releasing a bit of a follow-up grief album to Jenni.

Collaborator
Thou’s Inconsolable (2018). This is a photo of me and my late sister when we were kids.

I compose, arrange, and collaborate with bands and individual artists under my given name, Emily McWilliams, including with Eric Klerks, Troy Bennett’s Graveyard Lips, The Hirs Collective, Sunrot, and an ongoing, longstanding collaborative relationship with Thou since 2007*. In 2018 and 2019, I toured with MJ Guider’s live band. In 2022, I released a solo improvisational piano album, Form in Flow, with UK label The Crystal Cabinet.
